Download or read book Blind Faith written by Richard P. Sloan, Ph.D. and published by St. Martin's Griffin. This book was released on 2015-11-03 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pharmacists who refuse to fill prescriptions for contraceptives. Surgeons who pray in the OR. Pro-life clinics and end-of-life interventions, intelligent-design activists and stem-cell-research opponents. Is this the state of modern medicine in America? In Blind Faith, Dr. Richard P. Sloan examines the fragile balance and dangerous alliance between religion and medicine—two practices that have grown disconcertingly close during the twenty-first century. While Sloan does not dispute the fact that religion can bring a sense of comfort in times of difficulty, he nevertheless believes, and in fact proves, that there is no compelling evidence that faith provides an actual cure for any ailment. By exposing the flawed research, Sloan gives readers the tools to understand when good medical science is subverted and, at the same time, provides a thought-provoking examination into the origins and varieties of faith, and human nature itself.

Download or read book Blind Faith How Christianity Abandoned God written by Daniel N. N and published by BookCountry. This book was released on 2016-03-22 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blind Faith: How Christianity abandoned God, Part One – the Trinity doctrine, is the first book in a three-part series focused on exposing age-old spiritual beliefs that have been proven to be false. The trinity doctrine is arguably the most accepted, if not a fundamental belief in Christianity today. It’s the belief that claims God is made up of three distinct persons all unique but yet one. The focus of blind faith is to prove to you that the trinity doctrine is a false belief that was concocted and voted on by the 4th century CE, Roman appointed Ecumenical Bishops, who then went on to mislead the whole church into believing in a false god and have done so until this day. The only reason this doctrine is still viewed as truth is because of sixteen centuries of indoctrination, control and monopoly of the church when in fact there is no evidence anywhere in history, or in the Bible to support the existence of such a god (a triune god). If this doctrine is false then its goes without saying that the core or the foundation of what Christians believe today about who God is, is equally false. In other words, Christianity today is based on a lie and the 2.2 billion Christians around the world are following a lie. A lie if brought to light would shake the very foundations of Christianity as we know it.

Download or read book The Return of the Circuit Rider written by David Robert Hinshaw and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the process of writing two short collections of light hearted material, (one published and one yet to be published), the author became acutely aware that he could not continue forward without addressing what he considered to be the most important issues of human existence. All of us have asked ourselves the questions, "What is the meaning of life" and "Why am I here"? Some have rejected the idea of an eternal soul, some are undecided, while others are largely unconcerned, but the author has chosen to embrace the concept and run with it. He believes there is a single overriding mission for every individual alive today. The sole purpose of this life is to prepare for the next one, and every person has been given the ability to control his own destiny. When compared to eternity, our lives are like a single knot in a rope that stretches around the world. From the foundation of the earth, a plan has been in place to allow humanity to share the wonders of eternity with the Creator of all things. Those who follow that plan will be rewarded accordingly, while those who prefer to separate themselves from the influence of a Higher Power, will be granted their wish in eternity. If this book convinces one person to follow the plan that leads to redemption, then it will have been well worth the effort.

Download or read book God s Inferno written by James Tucker and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2005-07-01 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Very few of the titles, whether fiction or non, take a serious analytical look at the "Bible" as a biblical scholar or theologian would. This is where "God's Inferno" differs from the majority. It utilizes logical, rational, reasoning to analyze what that Bible actually says, not what most have been lead to believe. It seriously attacks the present Christian faith as their tenants and doctrines are based on a very faulty interpretation of what the Bible actually says. It maintains, and proves, the god of the Old Testament is not the 'Supreme God', but merely what the Jewish people of Israel pictured their god to be. Naturally, if he is not the Supreme God, then Jesus is not the Son of that Supreme God but may have been the son of that hateful, murderous, vengeful god of the Old Testament. From the founding of Christianity, it traces its impact through the first 1500-1600 years of the Catholic Church, the keepers of the faith during that time. It documents the Crusades, the Inquisitions and the Reformation as well as the many married priests, Popes who fathered children, and under aged leading fathers of the Church. Finally, it attempts to motivate the indifferent Christian to utilize his God given mind to seriously think about what they actually believe and to conduct their lives according to that belief."
Download or read book Finding Faith in Slow Motion written by Damon J. Gray and published by WestBowPress. This book was released on 2013-11-12 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Faith is neither static nor instantaneous. It is not something we stumble upon and instantly understand. Neither is it a monolithic, one-dimensional, singular entity that has but one face, one color, one fragrance. It is many-faceted, multi-dimensional, and appears differently depending on one’s angle to the Son. In Finding Faith in Slow Motion, Damon Gray examines faith from myriad angles and through gut-wrenching life experiences, as he asks regarding faith, “What is that stuff?” Spanning the emotional gamut from laughter to tears, Gray challenges us to define our faith and redefine it, to look at it from a multitude of perspectives and define it again. The writing is intentionally evocative and playful, offering the reader the ability to identify with Gray as he wrestles with the weighty subject matter of finding faith.
