Download or read book Good Morning Message written by Peggy Edwards and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-08 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This daily devotional book has been a God-led inspiration from its very start-up; from its original Bible verse and note of encouragement to some coworkers and family members to people around the world via my email network. Our God is so awesome! I've had people return emails to me or speak to me and ask, "How did you know that I needed that today?" or "How did you know I was going through this?" That is when I thankfully remind them that God inspired each and every one of these devotionals. I am just being faithful and following His directions. Now I'm led to put them into a year of daily devotions book to reach others. Occasionally, my emailed devotionals have colored photographs that I take as God inspired message for the day. Unfortunately, I couldn't include those in this book. I did include a photo in grayscale at the beginning of each month; the cover photo is a God-blessed look at an Alaskan sunset. I am so thankful that God is working in my life. I want to encourage each of you to grasp hold of whatever gift He has blessed you with and step out in trust and faith to go forth and to share it with others. When you feel down, just start counting each of the blessings God has touched you with in your life; and you will feel His Presence and comfort to encourage you. We are never alone; He is just a prayer away; nothing is impossible for our God. He is not done with us yet. He is asking us to be obedient in our service to Him, and He will help us grow in our faith. Trust in Him, and you will be astounded at what He has in store for you.

Stramara's in-depth scholarship, presented in a format of prayer and meditation, makes this book inviting for all readers. Download or read book Soulmates written by David Horn and published by Hendrickson Publishers. This book was released on 2022-05-03 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What does it mean to develop true community in our churches—and how do we get there? For all the vast talk about the nature of the church over the years, our understanding of the actual relationship we euphemistically call "Christian community" is rather thin and incomprehensible. Peel away the institutional hard shell around what we understand to be the church and what fleshy relationship lies within? In Soulmates, David Horn addresses the above questions with creativity, wisdom, and pastoral love, equipping you with a practical roadmap to achieving deeper relationships within your church community. By setting the utterly unique relationship, fellowship, against the backdrop of another important relationship that serves most often as its chief counterfeit, friendship, Horn seeks to give definition and understanding to true Christian community. Covering such topics as the many faces of relationship, the nature of friendship, the making of community, the hospitality of sojourners and aliens, and more, Soulmates invites readers to understand and move into the uncommon relationship that we, as the body of Christ, are to engender in one another in our life together—a relationship that is far more unique and radical than we often imagine.

Download or read book Between the Ambo and the Altar written by Guerric DeBona and published by Liturgical Press. This book was released on 2014-10-02 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The publication of The Roman Missal, Third Edition offers an opportunity for homilists to explore the relationship between the Sunday readings and the new Roman Missal. Between the Ambo and the Altar is the second book (Year B) in a three-volume series that presents scriptural, liturgical, and preaching commentary for Sundays, solemnities, and feasts throughout the year. Each Sunday's resources are presented in three sections: exploring the Scripture, connecting the Lectionary with the liturgy, and a homiletic strategy. DeBona takes the preacher through a meditation on the language of the Missal, suggests parallels to the Sunday Lectionary, and gives practical homiletic strategies, using core themes and images. It is hoped that the commentary advances a framework for homily preparation, so that preachers might "savor the deep meaning of the word of God which unfolds each year in the liturgy" (Benedict XVI, Verbum Domini 52).

Download or read book Without a Flock written by William Flewelling and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2020-10-05 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the free church tradition, the pastoral prayer has long assumed an important place in the worship of the congregation. It is expected that the pastor will have a more or less extended prayer pertinent to the day and/or to the run of the service in general. Under the circumstances of normal practice, these would involve awareness of a congregation, or a "flock" for a pastor to tend. After ending a normal pastorate and entering retirement and the far more occasional happenstance of entering a pulpit as a guest, the regular preparation for a worship-leading practice became desirable, personally. As a part of that preparation, most often without entering the leadership of worship, least of all as pastor, the pastoral prayer was prepared. This book collects eleven years worth of pastoral prayers, linked to the preaching text of the day by way of the sermon prepared. As there is no flock as reference point, these are, indeed, "Without A Flock".
